The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has revealed how the people of Rivers State will vote in 2027.
Wike said the people of Rivers State won’t vote based on political parties but it would be based on unity and interest.
Addressing the people of Khana in Bori, Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State, to thank them for their support, he said the state would vote for President Bola Tinubu.
According to him, leaders are chosen to speak and act for the people, not to pursue their own personal interests.
He said, “Follow your leaders. Wherever they go, that is where we will go as well.”
Wike explained that his visit was not for political campaigning but to appreciate the people of Khana for supporting him and President Bola Tinubu.
He praised the community for standing with Tinubu during the 2023 elections, even when many others were afraid to do so.
He said that because of their support, Khana has benefited from good roads, the University of Environment, and other developments, all made possible by President Tinubu’s goodwill.
He added that several appointments have already gone to Ogoniland and that more opportunities are still on the way.
The minister also said that “people in Rivers State will now vote based on unity and shared interest, not just political parties, to help develop the state under Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.”
Earlier, the lawmaker representing Khana, Rep. Dumnamene Dekor (APC), praised Wike and President Tinubu for bringing positive attention and development to Ogoniland.
Dekor said the people of Khana were proud to support Wike and were ready to follow his leadership wherever it led.
He also assured Wike that lawmakers from Rivers State had given their full support to President Tinubu.
Speaking for women in the area, Mrs. Barile Nwakoh, an APC member representing Khana 1 State Constituency, thanked Wike for remembering Khana and its people.
She said Wike continues to receive strong support in Rivers State because of his honesty, goodwill, and care for the people.
She added that women in Khana are ready to support President Tinubu if he seeks a second term.
“We are ready to work for President Tinubu. Please let him know that we stand with him,” she said.
In the same vein, the Chairman of Khana Local Government Council, Dr Thomas Bariere, thanked Wike for always supporting the people of the area.
He said that when capable leaders are in office, development follows.
“Since we supported President Tinubu, life has improved for the people of Khana,” he said.
Bariere assured Wike of the continued support of the people of Khana Local Government Area.
