Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, a former governor of Ondo State, and Mr. Kola Oyeneyin, chairman of the Opportunistic Global Fund, have urged the new administration to be prepared to “roll up its sleeves” and deal with the diversity-related problems that have eroded the nation’s social fabric.

Speaking at the “Good Governance and Accountability” Dare Adeboye Foundation Change and Development Forum at Redemption Camp in Ogun State, the duo insisted that the theme is extremely appropriate because leadership is what creates strong institutions and good governance in every developed country.

Mimiko bemoaned the fact that Nigeria has replaced India as the world’s centre of poverty in his remarks, saying: “Nigeria seems to be at the bottom of every development statistics. The 133 million poor people statistics accurately reflect the situation in our nation.

“Whoever is coming must be prepared to get his hands dirty because economic development is more than just a programme for creating jobs. It is wealth creation for the people.

We also cannot afford the mantra of 97 to 5% that I mentioned. Each region of this nation must be represented, and everyone deserves a prominent position under the incoming administration.

“So, we need to protect this nation. increasing the size and effectiveness of our law enforcement agencies through, among other things, training and compensation. These are just a few of the steps that should be taken to secure Nigeria.

Pastor Leke Adeboye, the Senior Personal Assistant to the General Overseer of the RCCG, stated that the Foundation’s goal was to touch lives by strengthening the country, advancing God’s kingdom, and advancing his vision, which has now become Nigeria’s vision.

“The Foundation had been pushing the boundaries of touching lives directly through individual impact, community-based impact, and national development through initiatives of Kingdom advancement, youths’ empowerment, education, leadership, and governance, sanitation and clean water initiatives.”

Kola Oyeneyin, chief executive officer of Opportunik Global Funds, also spoke and emphasised the importance of justice and equity for the development of the economy.

The new administration should “be transparent, leverage technology, and invest heavily in data with inclusivity,” according to Oyeneyin.
