Tragedy at APC Primaries in Bwari as Violence Claims Life

According to reports, one person was killed on Wednesday as a result of violent altercations during the All Progressives Congress (APC) council primaries in Abuja’s Bwari Area Council.
The incident was reported to have taken place amid escalating tensions about alleged anomalies in the list of delegates used for the ballot.
An alleged video of the incident, showing a body being hastily loaded into a black car, was obtained.

The media reports that a voice in the background says, “Put him in the car as soon as possible.”

A party insider further asserted that Abdullahi Ganduje, the party’s national chairman, was in charge of submitting a controversial list of delegates for the primary election for the Bwari Area Council.
According to the source, the list purportedly put up by the chairman of the APC Local Council was unanimously rejected by candidates and authorized delegates.

The disputed list was supposedly sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by the APC leadership, and it was reported that they accepted it, escalating the crisis.

According to reports, Abdullahi Ganduje, the national chairman of the APC, has compromised IEC and is now supplying the list of delegates for the local government election for the Bwari Area Council. The purported phony list, which was submitted through the chairman of the APC Local Council, was unanimously rejected by candidates and valid delegates, according to a second source.

In the meantime, the APC council chairman, in a video that journalists were able to get, charged that certain party members were corrupted after allegedly accepting payment to sabotage the primaries.

He urged everyone to examine their consciences and stop causing trouble for financial gain during the heated discussion.

While out of town, SP Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, said she would respond to reporters later.
“As I am currently out of town, I will call to confirm, but let me confirm and get back to you,” the police spokeswoman was reported as saying by SaharaReporters.
