Transfer Roundup: McAtee, Konate, Saliba, Vinicius, Gyokeres, Mbeumo & More

If the price is right, Manchester City is allegedly willing to allow James McAtee go during the summer transfer window.
The Premier League champions have reportedly paid £35 million for the 22-year-old English midfield player, according to The Telegraph.
Clubs considering a move include West Ham United and Bundesliga team Eintracht Frankfurt, although they will have to pay City’s asking price in order to make a deal.

Real Madrid, however, appears to be taking several long-term strategies.

According to Football Insider, Los Blancos are content to hold off on signing Ibrahima Konate from Liverpool on a free transfer until the next summer. A lowball bid within this window is still possible, though.

William Saliba of Arsenal is another player Madrid is keeping an eye on. Under Mikel Arteta, the 24-year-old French defender has shown promise, and according to L’Équipe, the Spanish powerhouses are keeping a close eye on him and are prepared to jump in if the opportunity arises.

According to AS, the tantalizing, nine-figure Saudi offer for Vinicius Jr. has been retracted for the time being.

The 25-year-old Real Madrid star is still a top target for Saudi teams, but negotiations might pick up steam in 2026 when the Brazilian attacker might be more amenable to leaving Europe.

Leeds United in the Championship is trying to raise transfer money by starting a bidding battle for Mateo Joseph, a 21-year-old Spanish forward.

Ruben Amorim, the manager of Manchester United, is urging further additions before the transfer window ends. The Mirror claims that Amorim plans to add at least two more. Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting might be one of them.

The 27-year-old Swedish forward is reportedly being pursued by United, however Arsenal is also a possibility, according to A Bola.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Bryan Mbeumo has finished his medical examination in preparation for joining Manchester United from Brentford.

The Cameroonian forward, 25, is now just a step away from being revealed as United’s newest acquisition.

According to Caught Offside, Tottenham Hotspur is willing to match Bournemouth’s asking price for 22-year-old Ukrainian defender Illia Zabarnyi.

Spurs view Zabarnyi as a long-term investment and are eager to strengthen their defense.

According to Football Insider, Nottingham Forest is in the lead to recruit 24-year-old midfielder Jacob Ramsey from Aston Villa, who is looking for more playing time.

After protracted discussions, Sunderland decided to go elsewhere and withdrew from a £17.5 million deal for Sassuolo’s Armand Lauriente, according to The Northern Echo.
