Transfer Update: Arsenal Target Gyökeres, Madrid Endorses Alonso’s Strategy, Chelsea Pulls Back on Isak

Arsenal’s transfer activity is heating up, with Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres preparing to undergo medicals ahead of a high-profile move to the Emirates.
Fabrizio Romano, a prominent transfer journalist, reports that all procedures between the Gunners and Sporting have been completed, paving the way for the Swedish forward’s last stages toward joining Arsenal.
Romano stated on X that Viktor Gyökeres is the next Arsenal player, as all documents have been cleared and exchanged. Arsenal and Sporting completed the process by obtaining formal travel authorization and scheduling medicals for the next 24 hours. Gyökeres is coming shortly.”

The striker is likely to join Mikel Arteta’s team during their pre-season tour of Asia, adding firepower to an already potent offensive lineup. Arsenal fans will hope Gyökeres can recreate his goal-scoring exploits in Portugal in the Premier League.

Real Madrid fulfills Alonso’s demands.
Real Madrid have shown faith in newly appointed manager Xabi Alonso by agreeing to his transfer requests during the present summer window.

As reported by Madrid Zone via Cadena SER, Alonso has directed the club to keep midfielder Dani Ceballos, who has been linked with a move away, particularly to Real Betis.

According to the article, Alonso has requested that no midfielders be moved this summer, and the Los Blancos management has apparently agreed.

With Luka Modric having recently left, Alonso appears determined to maintain depth and experience in the heart of midfield as he prepares for the 2025/2026 season.

Chelsea Steps Away from Isak Pursuit; Focus Shifts
Chelsea has apparently opted to end their chase of Newcastle striker Alexander Isak.

Despite the Swedish forward’s transfer request and expressed desire to leave St. James’ Park, the Blues have turned their attention elsewhere.

Fabrizio Romano clarified on his official 𝕏 site that Chelsea is not actively working on the Alexander Isak deal and has no desire in moving forward, despite claims. #CFC is quite pleased with their forwards and is currently concentrating on the Xavi Simons and Jorrel Hato transactions.”

While Liverpool remains the frontrunner in the race for Isak, Chelsea’s recruiting team is content with their present attacking lineup and is more interested in young reinforcements.
