Two men remanded for bribing police in Ekiti

Two men identified as Kayode Seun and Godwin Festus, have been remanded over conspiracy, fraud, cybercrime and bribing police officers by the Ado-Ekiti magistrates court.

Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, the prosecutor, informed the court that there was sufficient reason to order the remand of Kayode Seun and Godwin Festus. They are suspected of conspiring to commit fraud and were found in possession of a Mercedes Benz CLA car suspected to be stolen.

Additionally, the prosecutor alleged that the defendants attempted to bribe police officers with N485,000 on April 22, 2024, at 11am in Ikere-Ekiti.

The defendants’ counsel, Iyanu Olumuagun, withdrew her appearance for personal reasons.

The Magistrate, A. O. Owoleso, in his ruling, ordered that a hearing notice be served on the defendants through the officers of th11 ame correctional centre and adjourned the case to June 6.
