According to Fabiyi Oladimeji, a prominent member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, the two past presidential contenders, are the two principalities inside the coalition party that are working toward the same objective.
Speaking in an interview on Arise Television’s “Prime Time,” Oladimeji reportedly stated that since Peter Obi joined the ADC, there has been a persistent attack on Atiku, a member of the same opposition party, rather than the unity of the party and coalition.
He claims that politics is about interests, but since Atiku and Peter Obi are part of the same coalition, there is no justification for their followers to disparage one another.
“Power rules Nigeria, not poetry,” he declared. Furthermore, people who shout justice the loudly typically do not have the most power. Those who are aware of the dynamics are in charge of it.
In the ADC, we have two principalities. Peter Obi is a principal as well as Atiku Abubakar. Rotimi Amaechi and Nasir El-Rufai are two more examples.
“This has happened before. None of these are brand-new. My message to Nigerians is to remain composed. There will be a solution, and the ADC is the vehicle that will transport all of them.
“Today, David Mark, a seasoned gentleman, is leading and managing ADC. You are unable to take it away from him. The vision is also rather evident.
Since politics is about interests, the followers of Atiku and Peter Obi who are creating a fuss have the right to do so. Atiku’s clear statement that “no, you don’t do this” made me delighted.
“The “Obidients” and the “Atikulates” have no justification whatsoever for attacking one another because they are part of the same coalition and are pursuing the same objective.”
