UIDLC Switches Study Mode as UI Opens Special Admission Window for Undergraduate Programmes
For all Post-UTME candidates who have shifted to the UI Open Distance eLearning Center as their new study option, the University of Ibadan (UI) has created a specific screening and verification process.
According to a statement from Prof. Babatunde Omobowale, Director of UI DLC, the move represents a huge opportunity for eligible applicants nationwide who might not have been able to enroll through JAMB or pursue conventional on-campus education at a renowned university such as the University of Ibadan.
“Candidates must update their records by going to https://modeofstudy.ui.edu.ng/putme,” he stated. Candidates can verify their information by visiting the Admissions Office at the UIDLC Administrative Building Complex, which is situated at the University of Ibadan Extension along Sasa-Ajibode Road, or by using the online verification option on their portal after the update. The interactive sessions start right away.
“You still have the chance to apply if you are a qualified applicant and haven’t done so yet. To obtain the respected UI degree, you can apply directly at https://modeofstudy.ui.edu.ng. A customizable, tech-enabled blended learning experience is offered by the UI-ODeL mode.
“The learning experience offers a robust academic environment that fits various lifestyles, especially young entrepreneurs and workers. It includes interactive course guides, real-time virtual lectures on Mobile Class, and enhanced physical interactive sessions for revision with the same faculty lecturers and dedicated E-Tutors.”
These applicants need to have at least five pertinent O-Level credits in a single sitting or six in two sittings.
According to Omobowale, on Saturday, September 27, 2025, new and incoming students must attend an orientation exercise at the CBT Complex, UIDLC, in order to learn about the academic policies of the institution, how to use campus resources, and what student support services are available.
“It is also a great opportunity to network with teachers and other students, which will guarantee a successful start to your academic career.”
This special admittance window will end at midnight on Friday, October 10, 2025, and is only available for a short period of time.
