Lagos State Public Service Joint Negotiating Council (LSPSJNC) has commended Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu over his prompt implementation of the new minimum wage and arrears.

The council made the commendation in a joint statement signed by its Vice Chairman, Mr Ige-Jenyo, and Assistant Secretary, Mr Ojo Femi, on Saturday in Lagos.

According to the union, the proactive measure reflects a deep commitment to the welfare of public servants and demonstrates exemplary leadership.

“The prompt rollout of the revised wage structure has provided much-needed financial relief to public servants, especially in the face of current economic challenges.

“It has also elevated the morale of workers across the state, reinforcing Lagos State’s reputation as the “Centre of Excellence” and a trailblazer in governance,” it said.

The council said Lagos salary framework had become a benchmark for other states, setting a standard for prioritising worker’s welfare.

It also said that Sanwo-Olu’s decisive actions in honouring the agreement had positioned him as a model of visionary leadership, earning admiration both within and beyond the state.

The union, however, urged the government to address other provisions of its agreement to ensure that the gains of the new wage structure were not diminished by inflation or other economic pressures.

According to the union, such measures will further safeguard the well-being of workers and their families, ensuring the long-term impact of the policies.

The council reiterated its commitment to fostering a collaborative partnership with the government to build an efficient and productive public service.

“We assure Mr Governor of the unwavering dedication of Lagos State workers to advancing the administration’s developmental agenda and contributing to the state’s progress.

“Once again, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to Mr Governor for prioritising the welfare of public servants.

“Your exemplary leadership inspires confidence among the workforce, and we look forward to continued cooperation in building a prosperous Lagos for all,” it said. (NAN)
