The Coordinator of Oodua Peoples Congress in the state, Rotimi Olumo, has slammed a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode for trying to belittle the achievement of the group by claiming the Fulani wardlord, Iskilu Wakili, arrested some days ago is the real person terrorising the residents of Ibarapa North Area.
Oluomo said Fani-Kayode’s claim is misinforming taken too far.
He also described the former Minister as ‘lie merchant and an expert in misinformation.’
Fani-Kayode, who took to his official Twitter handle two days ago, claimed that the man arrested by some OPC members wasn’t Wakili, adding that it was one Abu, a Fulani old man that was mistaken for Wakili.
The tweet reads, “One Isikilu Wakili, a foreign Fulani terrorist who operates in the Ibarapa area, is the most notorious, dangerous & bloodthirsty terrorist in the SW today.
“He killed even more people yesterday. He is even worse than Abu & the old man that is in police custody in Ibadan. The Isikilu Wakili that is still at large is the leading mafia don & he is a brutal & cold-blooded rapist & killer. He has brought torment and carnage to the people of the SW.
” I call on my friend & brother Sunday Igboho to support & assist the Nigerian Police Force and intelligence agencies to find him, fish him out and bring him to justice. This must be done within the law and it must be done with power & precision.
“Now is the time to free the people of Ibarapa & the SW of his wickedness & barbarity. Now is the time to do what ought to have been done long ago. I trust our security forces to do the right thing. If he resists arrest they should send him to hell where he belongs. The old man that they have in custody is not the real Mcoy. He is simply one of the godfathers. Isikilu is the real Mcoy and he is still out there killing our people. Only our security forces with the total support and commitment of Sunday Igboho, the local community and the gallant and fearless sons and daughters of Oduduwa can save the day. And save the day they MUST!”

But in a swift reaction the OPC, through its coordinator in Oyo State, hit by back the former Minister warning him against drumming ” the beat of unity in Yorubaland.”
The statement from Oluomo read, “Fani- Kayode is one of the politicians that thrive in telling lies. He has a reputation for using his social media page to foment trouble and cause disunity in Yorubaland. He had once said that Yoruba language was Anago. How can you take such a person too serious?
“I remember former President Olusegun Obasanjo once said that Fani-Kayode can do anything for money and survival.
“He lives in Abuja, romancing with the North, yet he was the first to refute the claim that the kidnapper was not Wakili. Where did he get his information?
“With his untenable claim, I know and I am sure that the former minister is doing the bid of his paymasters, who are majorly from the North. He is the undisputed spokesperson for any politician that is ready to feather his nest.
“He should be warned to stop drumming the beat of disunity in Yorubaland. Fani-Kayode was one of the few people that called and congratulated our leader, the Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Abiodun Ige Adams on Monday, on the success of the operation of the OPC, and the following day, he twisted the story refuting the claim that the man apprehended wasn’t Wakili.”
Narrating his experience during the raid to capture Wakili, Olumo stated that the operation that led to the arrest of Wakili and three other persons lasted over five hours, with a fierce battle ensuing between the OPC, the joint security operatives and the suspects.
However, in the end, he said Wakili was apprehended, but his son, Abu, escaped using their cows as a cover.
