We Were Misled by Those Targeting You’ – Happie Boys Apologize to OPM Pastor

On Sunday, September 14, Apostle Gift Chinyere was visited by former security guards known as Happie Boys at his church, Omega Power Ministries, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The visit garnered notice due to their tumultuous history with the cleric who used to be their benefactor.

During the ceremony, the two stood in front of the crowd and claimed to have been inspired by people they characterized as the Apostle’s foes.

With the possibility of being transported to the United States in exchange, they claim that those individuals convinced them to publicly assault the cleric.

“We were duped by those who intended to hurt you. They informed the congregation, “We now realize that we were wrong to follow them, but they promised us opportunities abroad if we disobeyed you.”

In 2023, the guys first came to the attention of the public when they were fired from their security employment for dancing while on duty.

Following their dismissal, an emotive internet petition caught Apostle Chinyere’s attention.

Prompted by their predicament, he gave them study abroad scholarships that paid for their move to Turkey.

However, after they claimed he had left them in Cyprus, their relationship worsened. He allegedly stopped providing them money after six months of assistance, leaving them stranded.

Nigeria’s faltering economy made it hard to maintain their scholarships, the Apostle subsequently clarified.

He suggested that they go back to school or move to the Benin Republic, but they declined.
