The Green Light Youth Movement, a coalition representing 19 northern states, has reaffirmed its strong support for the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike.
The coalition, which was crucial in supporting Wike during his presidential primaries in PDP, gathered in Abuja last week to celebrate his 57th birthday on Friday, December 13, 2024.
In a statement, the coalition’s president, Manko Umar, shared that the youth group presented a special book dedicated to Wike in recognition of his remarkable achievements but was unable to present it to him and hopes to do so in the future.
“Despite their best efforts to meet with the Minister, all attempts were unsuccessful due to protocol constraints. After the birthday event, Wike promptly flew to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, for further official engagements, preventing the group from presenting the book in person.”
Additionally, the coalition took the opportunity to visit notable political figures, including Hon. Joshua Audu Gana, a PDP member of the House of Representatives, and Prof. Jerry Gana, former minister. Both leaders welcomed the coalition’s visit and expressed their support for the group’s mission.
Unfortunately, on their way back, one of the coalition’s vehicles was involved in an accident. Several members sustained injuries, but thankfully, no lives were lost. The injured members received immediate medical attention.
The Green Light Youth Movement’s continued support for Barr. Wike highlights their deep faith in his leadership and their commitment to backing him in his future political endeavours.
“We remain hopeful that our efforts will further solidify Wike’s influence in shaping Nigeria’s political future.”
The coalition further seeks to meet with the minister to present the gifts and demonstrate their solidarity.
