Ayirimi Emami, a Delta State leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has urged moderation as reactions to the confrontation between Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of Kogi Central continue.
Speaking on Friday on the Arise TV show Morning Show, Natasha reportedly claimed that the Senate President was mistreating her after she rejected his advances for sex.
In a statement released on Saturday, Emami called on both federal parliamentarians to immediately halt hostilities, claiming that opponents of President Bola Tinubu’s administration were intent on using it as a pretext to divert Nigerian attention.
The crucial subject of the ₦54.99 trillion 2025 budget that President Tinubu signed into law on Friday, February 28, was overshadowed by the preventable media battle, according to the APC chairman.

While stressing the need of upholding the Senate’s integrity, Emima made a suggestion that APC leaders in the South-South are working to clear up the confusion.

“Many Nigerians are concentrating their energies on the dispute between the two distinguished senators, rather than the specifics of the 2025 budget and how it would accelerate the tangible progress being made in the country,” he stated.

The Distinguished Senate President Goodswill Akpabio and our sister-in-law, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, are miscommunicating, and our family is working to clear it up.

“I want to use this platform to urge both sides to support peace for the good of the country.

“The problems will be resolved shortly, by God’s grace and the wisdom of our good ancestors.”
