Nigerian singer, Fireboy DML has explained why he and his colleague, Rema, decided to collaborate instead of beefing as expected by fans.
He said they took the decision because they are âadvancedâ.
Speaking in an interview with Apple Musicâs Ebro, Fireboy said, âMyself and Rema are the two leading [Afrobeats] artists of our generation. We came together and realised that instead of giving the fans what they want which is beef, letâs collaborate. Because we are too advanced for this stuff.
âWe didnât even give them a club banger, we made proper music. We have five more collaborations.â
Fireboy and Rema were subjects of comparisons on social media after hitting stardom in the same year.
The comparisons subsided after Fireboy featured Rema on a track titled, âCompromiseâ off his third studio album, âPalyboyâ.
The collaborative song was an indication that they were in good terms.
