Wike in Dubai for 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit, Mayors’ Forum

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has arrived in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), for the 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors’ Forum (2025 APCS) scheduled to hold this week.

The Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, confirmed Wike’s arrival in a statement issued from Dubai on Monday. According to him, Wike departed Abuja on Sunday and touched down in Dubai around 4:00 a.m. on Monday.

He was warmly received by the Consul General of Nigeria in Dubai, Ambassador Zayyanu Ibrahim, alongside key officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) who had arrived ahead of him.

Among the delegation were Engr. Richard Yunana Dauda, Acting Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA); Benedict Daudu, Senior Special Assistant to the Minister on Legal and Multilateral Cooperation; Mukhtar Galadima, Director of Development Control; Engr. Chuks Udeh, Director of Engineering Services; and Sani Musa Daura, Director of Protocol.

The statement noted that Wike will on Tuesday lead a panel discussion at the summit, where he will speak on the development agenda of the FCT and engage with other city leaders on issues of urban governance, infrastructure, and sustainability.

According to the event organizers, the 2025 APCS aims to foster long-term collaboration and deliver value for cities and businesses seeking trade and investment opportunities across the Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa, and South Asia.
