Those who earlier accused him of working for the All Progressives Congress (APC) have now deserted to the ruling party, according to Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), who has blasted his detractors inside the PDP.
Speaking on Wednesday at the kickoff of a road project in Abuja, Wike indicated his pleasure with recent political alignments and hinted that he would soon give Nigerians a detailed update on current affairs.
Wike declared, “I am very happy, but I will speak to Nigerians very soon.” “I’ve been using social media and watching television every day. All of the people who said that I was working for the APC and that I wanted to destabilize their party (the PDP) are now members of the APC. Therefore, if it’s accurate, they ought to give me credit for working toward their goal. I should therefore be commended for my excellent work on their behalf.
The FCT minister, who was elected governor of Rivers State twice under the PDP, emphasized that he is still focused on his responsibilities in the FCT and stated that politics calls for maturity and prudence.
People have heard me say that politics is for the adults. You have to be really cautious in politics,” he continued.
Wike’s comments coincided with a string of high-profile PDP to APC resignations.
Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah formally joined the APC on Tuesday, and Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri similarly declared his departure from the PDP on Wednesday.
