Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has alleged that hoodlums hiding under the #EndBadGovernance protest destroyed the government lodge and Katagum local government secretariat, which were imported from neighbouring states for the mission.

LEADERSHIP Friday gathered Bauchi authorities further relaxed the 24-hour curfew imposed on the Katagum local government area of the state following the wave of violence by the protesters leading to the destruction of government and private properties.

Speaking during an inspection visit to Azare to assess the level of damage yesterday, the governor said the hoodlums were imported from Yobe, Jigawa and Kano to cause mayhem and destroy property.

He, however, said the Bauchi government would consider granting a pardon to hoodlums arrested in connection with the violent #EndBadGovernance protests in the state, warning that anyone arrested again would be made to face the full wrath of the law.

He expressed dismay over the destruction of public and private properties, stating that it was a clear message to those in governance to rethink and provide good governance to the people.

Governor Mohammed warned that any future breakdown of law and order would not be condoned.

He urged traditional rulers, religious leaders, and parents to take responsibility for ensuring their children did not engage in illicit activities.

It would be recalled that police arrested over 60 persons in connection with various breaches during the protests in the state.
