Zazzau Emirate loses prince, Wali Umar

Zazzau Emirate has lost a Prince and District Head, Engineer Aminu Umar. He died after participating in all the Sallah Durbar and other Eid-el-Fitr activities.

Late Engineer Umar, who was also the Walin Zazzau and District Head of Ikara, died on Sunday.

He was a descendant of the late Emir Dalhat from the Barebari ruling dynasty of the Zazzau Emirate.

He was a one-time Chief Executive Officer of the Kaduna State Water Board.

As Walin Zazzau, the late Engineer Umar was one of the most senior titleholders in the emirate.

The head of Media and Publicity of Zazzau Emirate, Abdullahi Aliyu Kwarbai, in a statement, said the deceased had participated in the Hawan Daushe Sallah durbar in Zaria on Friday and was one of the district heads that paid the Emir of Zazzau, Mallam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, Sallah homage.

Late Walin Zazzau died leaving behind wives and many children. He has since been buried, according to Islamic rites, at Amaru in Zaria City.

Meanwhile, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, has expressed shock over the death of Walin Zazzau.

In a condolence message by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, on Sunday, the Speaker condoled the Emir of Zazzau, the people and the government of Kaduna State over the irreparable loss.

He also prayed to Allah to grant the late Walin Zazzau Jannatul Firdaus and give the entire Zazzau Emirate, especially his immediate family as well as the Barebari ruling house, the fortitude to bear the loss.
