A militant group in the Niger Delta, the Niger Delta Volunteers (NDV) has condemned recent media attack on the present Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Obong Nsima Ekere.
In a statement issued yesterday signed by its leader, commander Ekpo Ekpo and made available to newsmen in Uyo, the group warn all those that are not comfortable with the developmental strides of the present NDDC board led by Obong Nsima Ekere to be cautious of their utterances and desist forthwith to avoid breakdown of law and order in the state.
The group congratulated Obong Nsima Ekere and the entire board of the Commission for working tirelessly in order to build enduring infrastructures across the region.
The statement read in part; ‘’Akwa Ibom has been producing NDDC Managing Director and about four Executive Directors without anyone feeling the impact of NDDC in the state,
This is the first time in the history of the Commission that the state has recorded massive infrastructural development and life-touching projects in all the nooks and crannies of the state and region’’.
We therefore call on those behind the campaign of calumny and cheap blackmail to ridicule the current NDDC board led by Obong Nsima Ekere to stop such act forthwith or face the consequence of their action.
The group commended President Muhammadu Buhari for enabling Akwa Ibom state feel the impact of his government, particularly in appointment of our sons and daughters to key positions in his government, and therefore pledge their loyalty and promise to work with APC in the state.
‘’We are very pleased with the leadership style of Mr. President and ready to mobilize over 4,000 of our foot soldiers to work and deliver APC in the state, soon we shall declare publicly our stand concerning 2019 election in Akwa Ibom state’’ the statement added.
