14 abducted Greenfield University students regain freedom
FOURTEEN abducted students of Greenfield University in Kaduna State have been released.
The students were released this afternoon at a location along the Kaduna- Abuja highway.
The chairman of the Parents Forum, Markus Zarmai and few others have gone to receive the students at a place where they were released.
Although the government and police authorities are yet to confirm the development, the parents of the abducted students said that they paid ransom, in addition to providing eight new motorcycles to the kidnappers before they agreed to release their children.
Recall that armed bandits had attacked the university situated along Kaduna-Abuja road on April 20, kidnapping 22 students.
A few days after, they dumped the bodies of three of the students in a location in the state. Another two bodies were found days later.
It was reported that one was later set free after his family paid a ransom.
Following the release of 27 students of the Federal College of Forestry Mechanization, Afaka, early this month, President Muhammadu Buhari appealed to the gunmen to set free the undergraduates.
