Security has been tightened in and around the national secretariat of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja, where the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting is holding on Wednesday.

Joint security team comprising military, police and other security personnel cordoned off the

Buhari House national secretariat building, located along Blantyre street in Wuse 2 District of Abuja, thereby preventing human and vehicular movements except for members of NEC and few other persons.

Early arrivals for the meeting included all National Working Committee (NWC) members, state chairmen of the party, former governor of Zamfara State, Sen. Abdulaziz Yari; former governor of Kebbi State and Minister of Budget and National Planning, Sen. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu; Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, among others.

President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shetimma, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker Abbas Tajudeen were being expected at the meeting as the time of filing this report.

LEADERSHIP reports that the meeting of the National Caucus of the party, which held at Aso Rock Presidential Villa earlier on Tuesday, was a precursor for the NEC meeting.

The NEC meeting was billed to start at 11am, but it was yet to commence as President Tinubu was yet to arrive at the APC national secretariat at the time of this report around 11.30am.
