Actress Kemity Denies Trading Sex for Roles, Says Success Is From Hard Work

Oluwakemisola Apesin, a Nollywood actress better known by her stage name Kemity, has responded to reports that she used sexual favors to rise in the business.

She reportedly stated that hard work is the reason behind her achievement in a post on her Instagram page.

Kemity reminisced about her early career and shared old pictures as she reflected on her path in Nollywood.

She said that she has always earned her way on her own and has never traded her body for screen parts or other possibilities.

She made a living while pursuing her love of acting by working as a receptionist at the Masters Hotel in Ayobo and owning two wine shops prior to entering the movie business.

In order to finance productions and maintain her financial stability, Kemity added, she had to acquire a variety of skills for her work, including acting and makeup artistry.

She emphasized that all of her professional accomplishments have come from hard work and dedication, driven by her background and strong family values.

The actress, who has two daughters of her own, cautioned aspiring actors against falling for scams or taking short cuts in the business.

To achieve, she underlined, one needs skill, discipline, consistency, and hard effort.

She wrote: “On Thursday, throw back.” There is something I must politely clarify. Social media noise should not be used as an excuse to deceive people. I haven’t ever collected a movie role using my physique. I have never had an affair in order to be in a movie.

Never once have I traded sex for an opportunity. Prior to meeting my boss, I was selling wine in two different stores.

“I’ve always put in effort to earn my money. My name is Mother. Using dignity and moral principles, I am training and raising my two girls. Something shady cannot be the foundation of their future. I’ve worked hard to become who I am now. All I have accomplished is a result of my diligence and God’s favor.
