Ex-AGF Advises Alia: Obey Tinubu, Approach Akume for Reconciliation

Hyacinth Alia, the governor of Benue State, has been encouraged by former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Michael Aondoakaa (SAN) to make amends with George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

Aondoakaa made the plea on Tuesday while appearing on the “Morning Show” on Arise Television.

“President Bola Tinubu has instructed both sides to put their swords down and embrace reconciliation,” he said.

In reference to the disagreements between Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia and Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, the former AGF stated, “The President has directed a conciliatory process by the party.”

“I don’t see anything wrong with him approaching Akume in response to the President’s order, nor do I see it as disrespectful to the office of the Governor.”

His statement comes as the conflict between Alia and Akume intensified after the All Progressives Congress (APC) ward congress that took place around the state on Wednesday.

It was noted that party members had been divided into two sections by the dispute, which started soon after Alia’s inauguration in 2023.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Regina Akume, the spouse of Gboko/Tarka Federal Constituency legislator and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), has officially renewed her union with George Akume.

She reportedly stated that, in spite of public remarks against his family, she is still his wife.

In a video taken during a New Year Mass, Mrs. Akume made the announcement while emphasizing that her family is still united. She spoke to the congregation in an emotional yet forceful manner.

“I want everyone to know that I still adore Mr. George (Akume).” “He is my spouse,” she declared.

“That is his son sitting there, and that is also his daughter,” she said, pointing to family members sat in the audience and naming them as she went.

The federal politician categorically declared that her marital status has not changed, denying public rumors.

My hubby and man are both that. He is the only husband I have. When she said, “I don’t care what the world says,” worshippers applauded.

Mrs. Akume also used the opportunity to share a recent medical experience, characterizing it as a trying time that tried her fortitude and faith.

She claims that she has entirely recovered after receiving supernatural healing.

She said, “I give thanks to God for healing me and restoring my health.”

She went on to reiterate her Christian beliefs, calling God all-powerful and incomparable.

He is the All-Powerful Father. She asserted that no one is like Him and that no power is greater than His.

“There is no sacrifice anybody can offer that is above the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus on the cross,” she continued, highlighting Christian views on redemption.

Her remarks follow rumors that the SGF recently took another wife, a fact that has sparked intense debate in political and social circles and increased public interest in the Akume family.
