Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, ought to have complete legal protection, according to Lawal Batagarawa, a prominent member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
He was responding to the accusation of phone tapping and other issues that were pending against the previous governor.
El-Rufai has a right to be treated equally with other Nigerians, according to the ADC chieftain.
During a live appearance on a Trust TV interview program on Thursday, Batagarawa made this statement.
“El-Rufai, like every other Nigerian, is entitled to be treated fairly before the law,” Batagarawa said.
However, it is incorrect to interpret his comments as definitive proof of his guilt. Judging outside of the appropriate court is prohibited. That’s what we’re trying to say.
“El-Rufai need to have complete legal protection. Due process is not being followed in this instance. It should be evident that due process is adhered to in an open, transparent, and—above all—fair manner.
Hadiza Isma, Nasir El-Rufai’s wife, has refuted claims that eavesdropping equipment were found in their home by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC).
According to reports, the ICPC had previously stated that during a raid on El-Rufai’s Abuja residence, suspected surveillance and wiretapping devices that may intercept private communications and get access to classified security information were found.
But according to a post on 𝕏, Hadiza declared that the assertion was untrue.
“I was there,” she wrote. There was no such apparatus. They tell lies. However, why? An organization with absolutely no credibility.
