The Byazhin-Across neighborhood Kubwa, a satellite town in the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja’s Bwari Area Council, has been attacked by armed men.
According to reports, the armed guys broke into the Paze neighborhood of Byazhin-Across on Monday night, killing Sylvester, a vigilante police, and kidnapping a number of locals.
Before carrying out the kidnappings, the attackers assaulted the area at around 11:00 p.m. and opened fire, frightening the locals.
The vigilante was allegedly shot during the attack after leaving a compound where he had been sitting with other locals when the attackers showed up.
During the event, several people were taken away.
A month-old infant was abandoned, and four children of a pastor, a vigilante’s wife, and her sister were among those abducted.
Among those kidnapped during the assault were a security guard and another woman.
Suspected kidnappers allegedly launched another attack in the same Byazhin-Across neighborhood in Orange Farm two days after the initial incident, breaking into multiple homes and kidnapping other locals.
The community, which was once thought to be calm, has become more fearful as a result of the recent attacks, and many people are now worried about the rising number of kidnapping incidents in some areas of the Federal Capital Territory.
