Senator Meets Defence Minister Over Rising Insecurity in Southern Kaduna

Sunday Marshall Katung, the senator for the Kaduna South Senatorial District, met with Christopher Musa, the minister of defense, to discuss the ongoing security issues that Southern Kaduna towns are facing.

After meeting the minister at the government Ministry of Defence in Abuja, Katung revealed this in a statement on Saturday. He described the encounter as a part of efforts to seek stronger government intervention to improve security in areas of his senatorial district.

The legislator claims that the interaction was centered on the safety of those living in Kaduna South Senatorial District areas, many of which have recently experienced security threats.

According to Katung, “the meeting was a crucial step towards addressing security concerns affecting some of our communities in Kaduna South Senatorial District.”

He was pleased with the minister’s response and dedication to addressing the security crisis, pointing out that the Defense Minister showed a willingness to assist initiatives meant to bring peace and stability back to the impacted areas.

Musa’s leadership and attitude to national security were also praised by Katung, who described them as strategic and thorough.

He pointed out that the minister’s viewpoint addresses Kaduna State’s and the nation’s larger security requirements in addition to local issues.

He went on, “The minister’s approach to security is comprehensive, looking beyond our senatorial district to the broader needs of Kaduna State and Nigeria.”

The senator emphasized that in order to solve insecurity, political leaders, security services, and community stakeholders must work together. He pointed out that sustainable peace can only be attained by working together.

“As the people’s representative, I am dedicated to collaborating with the minister and other relevant parties to discover long-term solutions to our security issues,” he declared.

Additionally, Katung honored military personnel and other security agencies for their sacrifices in defending people’s lives and property around the nation.

He urged the public to keep lending support to security guards and offering helpful information that might help security organizations carry out their duties.

“To keep our neighborhoods safe, our security staff puts out a lot of effort. We should be grateful and supportive of their sacrifices,” he stated.

Residents of Kaduna South Senatorial District were reassured by the senator that he would keep working with partners and pertinent authorities to guarantee better security and long-lasting peace throughout the area.

In order to protect people and property, political leaders and federal security agencies have been urged to work together more closely since Southern Kaduna communities have faced recurrent security issues in recent years.
