According to reports, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC) has found multiple Egyptian real estate holdings connected to Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State.
The assets are allegedly relevant to the current ICPC inquiry into events that occurred while El-Rufai was the governor of Kaduna State.
Three villas and six flats were found, all of which were reportedly situated in upscale neighborhoods and estates in Cairo, Egypt’s capital.
According to report, homes in New Cairo’s Arabilla Estate and Banafsik Estate sell for between $1,000,000 and $1,300,000.
In the meantime, apartments in Cairo Festival City cost about $500,000 apiece.
The homes were bought between 2021 and 2023 while El-Rufai was still the governor of Kaduna State, according to sources cited in the ongoing investigations into his tenure.
One property at Arabilla Estate in Cairo’s fifth settlement region, another villa at Banafsik Estate in New Cairo’s first settlement area, and another villa in Oriana II, New Cairo (near American University) are among the properties linked to El-Rufai.
Additional holdings include two flats in Oriana Estate, New Cairo, and four units in Cairo Festival City.
According to reports, el-Rufai is being investigated by the ICPC for allegedly embezzling money while serving as governor of Kaduna state from 2015 to 2023.
Since February 18, 2026, the ICPC has been holding him.
El-Rufai was also questioned by the Department of State Services (DSS) just before he was placed under ICPC custody regarding his claim that National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu’s phone had been tapped.
