“Nigerian Institutions Under Dictatorship” – Ex-Minister Solomon Dalung

Solomon Dalung, a prominent member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has claimed that a tyrant is in control of Nigerian institutions.

According to reports, Dalung made the claim in response to the state of the nation’s government institutions during an interview with Trust TV.

The former Minister of Sports and Youth Development went on to compare Nigeria’s institutions to prisoners held by forest bandits, emphasizing that the judiciary is the most severely impacted.

Dalung claims that the judiciary operates in a hostile and poisonous environment.

“Our institutions in Nigeria today are no different from the prisoners who are currently with the bandits in the forest,” he declared. Our instructions are that way.

“Can you speak if you have seen how bandits use guns to hold captives? Could you say that? After that, they will attack them with firearms. A dictator’s jackboot is on our institutions. And the impact on the judiciary is worse.

Dalung, meanwhile, has denounced the latest murders in Plateau State, bemoaning what he called a return to a “dark era” of profiling and killing innocent highway travelers.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Dalung called the murder of four young traders at Dorowa Babuje in Barakin Ladi Local Government Area “barbaric and unacceptable.”

According to the former minister, the “dark era of profiling citizens on highways and slaughtering innocent travellers simply because they share an ethnic or religious identity” is passed.

“I believed that the terrible days of profiling people on highways and killing innocent travelers just because they share an ethnic or religious identity were behind us,” Dalung remarked.
