A terrible traffic accident on Yobe State’s Damaturu–Maiduguri route claimed the lives of at least five members of the same family.
Residents of Potiskum Local Government Area were reportedly implicated in the incident, which happened on Wednesday and has left the community in grief.
In a Facebook post, Dahiru Musa Talba, a victim’s relative, confirmed the news, revealing that three family members suffered varied degrees of injury and five family members perished in the collision.
He claims that the injured victims were sent to the General Hospital in Damaturu, where they are presently being treated.
Talba expressed intense sorrow and called the event “devastating.”
“Inna raji’un wa inna lillahi.” I lost my mother,” he wrote.
He continued by saying that the collision happened on a busy roadway with a lot of traffic.
Suraj Muh’d Jaji Guyik, a family friend, responded to the tragedy by saying, “The incident happened on their way coming from Maiduguri to Potiskum after a condolence visit for their loved ones.” They’re being taken to the YSSH A/E treatment facility. Thanks to the cooperation of YSSH management and the general public, we were able to obtain all the necessary urgent medical supplies.
