INEC vs ADC: VDM Says DSS Contacted Him Over Alleged Protest Plans

Martins Vincent Otse, also known as Verydarkman, VDM, is a well-known social media critic in Nigeria. He claims to have received a call from the Department of State Services (DSS) regarding a supposed plan to organize a nationwide protest regarding the conflict between the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

According to reports, INEC has suspended recognition of the ADC’s national chairman, former Senate President David Mark, and national secretary, former Interior Minister Rauf Aregbesola.

According to reports, INEC took action in response to an Appeal Court ruling and a lawsuit brought by Nafiu Bala Gombe, a party factional leader.

The opposition leaders, who united and embraced the party prior to the 2027 general elections, are perplexed by the move.

The party accused President Bola Tinubu’s administration of planning the crisis, and there are signs that there would be a statewide demonstration.

In a video clip that he uploaded to his Facebook page on Tuesday, VDM claimed that he received a call from a DSS agent asking about the purported scheduled protest.

He claims that the caller insisted on knowing the purpose of the planned protest, claiming that they are planning to incite disturbance nationwide.

“This morning, I received a call from a DSS official asking what the purpose of the protest you people are organizing is,” he stated. What protest, I asked him? since I have no plans to protest anywhere.

According to the report they received, he informed me, “I and some people want to cause unrest in this country.”

He claimed that in order to incite disturbance, ADC hired me to spearhead the demonstration on their behalf due to INEC. I informed the person over the phone that I do not support ADC anywhere and that I am not partisan.
