The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Abia State branch has announced that it will not be holding any Wards, Local Government, or State Congresses from April 7–14, 2026.
In a communication to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, party members, wards, local government, state executive, and the general public, the Abia ADC disclosed the information.
The Appeal Court’s ruling to maintain the status quo ante bellum prompted INEC to take the David Mark-led National Working Committee from its website, according to a statement signed by Mr. Don Norman Obinna, Chairman of the Abia ADC.
Additionally, Obinna clarified that INEC had directed ADC State officers not to supervise the purported ADC State Congresses and National Convention in compliance with the Court’s decision.
He stated that the current terms of the State Executive, LGA, and Abia State Ward are still in force.
As a result, party members, leaders, and stakeholders are asked to maintain composure, remain upbeat, and spread the positive message of ADC while abstaining from actions that can disturb local tranquility.
“Rest assured, efforts are ongoing to revitalize the party and restore normalcy,” stated the chairman of the Abia ADC.
He assured his party members that he would keep them informed of any new developments.
