One-Party State: Tinubu’s Aide Tells Peter Obi ‘Your Agenda Is Dead on Arrival’

Olusegun Dada, President Bola Tinubu’s special assistant on social media, has criticized former presidential candidate Peter Obi for a comment regarding the plans of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to make the nation a one-party state.

According to reports, Peter Obi urged all well-meaning Nigerians to participate in the demonstration to protect the nation’s democracy in a post on Wednesday on 𝕏, stating that democracy must not be killed in the nation.

“We, the leaders and members of the ADC, along with other well-meaning Nigerians who love democracy, are saying that our democracy must not be killed,” he wrote. We oppose a one-party system, and as a result, we are urging Nigerians who value national security, unity, and peace to stand with us in defending democracy.

Olusegun Dada responded to the tweet by claiming that Peter Obi attempted to depict Nigeria as a one-party state due to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) dispute, which he said was offensive to all Nigerians.

“Mr. Obi, there are 21 political parties registered by @inecnigeria in Nigeria as of today,” he stated. In Nigeria’s national and local governments, about half of these parties have elected legislators. The party you ran on (before fleeing as usual) still controls Abia State and has elected members in the national legislature. Every rational Nigerian is insulted by your attempt to portray Nigeria as a one-party state due to the self-inflicted injury to the leg of your current political SPV (The ADC). Your agenda is dead when you get there.
