The 2026 recruiting process for the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has begun, and eligible citizens from member nations—including Nigeria—are being invited to apply for more than 30 positions among its institutions.
This was revealed by the regional bloc in a notice that was posted on its official website on Thursday. It stated that the exercise is intended to improve the way its sectoral programs are implemented.
It encouraged prospective candidates to apply via its careers portal.
Jobs in Abuja, Nigeria
A number of vacancies are open in Nigeria, especially in Abuja, according to the notice.
Office Aide, Program Assistant, Nurse, Protocol Assistant, Documentation and Archives Assistant, Office Manager (Bilingual Secretary), Junior Accountant (Disbursements), Accountant roles, Legal Officers, Political Advisor, Principal Officer positions, Registrar roles, Head of Division (Library and Documentation), and Head of Hansard are among them.
Positions Available in Africa
The organization’s regional reach was reflected in the posts it listed outside of Nigeria.
These include the positions of Principal Programme Officer (Water Supply and Sanitation) in Conakry, PPO (Sports Policy) in Liberia, and Administrative and Finance Officer in Addis Ababa.
There are further administrative and legal positions available in Dakar, among other places.
According to ECOWAS, the age requirements for each position vary.
The advertisement stated that candidates must be 35 years old for General Services or Support posts (G1 to G7), 45 years old for Professional category (P1 to P7), and 50 years old for Director positions (D1-D2).
ECOWAS Deadline and Application Process
According to the organization, candidates must download and fill out an official application form, attach a motivation letter and curriculum vitae, and send it to the specified email addresses by the deadline.

On April 30, 2026, applications for the 2026 recruitment process will expire.
Additionally, ECOWAS stressed that it does not collect any fees for its hiring procedure while cautioning potential candidates to be cautious of unscrupulous schemes.
Noting that only those who were shortlisted will be contacted, it further urged female candidates to apply.
The exercise demonstrates the organization’s dedication to enhancing institutional capacity and encouraging participation from all of its member nations.
