Kwara Government Awards N60 Million Relief to Families of Slain Soldiers

AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the governor of Kwara state, visited soldiers hurt in a recent ambush by bandits and announced a contribution of N5 million to each of the three injured and N20 million to the families of those murdered.

Brigadier General Nicholas Nemetne Rume, the commander of the Nigerian Army’s 22 Armoured Brigade in Sobi, and Professor Abdullah Dasilva Yussuf, the hospital’s chief medical director, welcomed Governor AbdulRazaq to the facility.

The governor expressed sympathy to the soldiers’ families on Wednesday and stated that the occurrence demonstrated the sacrifice made by the guys in military to ensure everyone’s safety in the nation.

The governor asked Nigerians to continue supporting the security agencies in their national mission and praised them for their selfless service.

“We are coming to pay a visit to the soldiers who were ambushed by bandits. Sadly, we lost three of them, and the remaining three are being treated here at the hospital. Praying for them and helping the relatives of the deceased is what we can do. He said, “May their souls rest in peace.”

“We are grateful for their unselfish devotion to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the federation, and its citizens. As a temporary measure until the Ministry of Defense takes proper care of the deceased, we would provide N60 million to their families.

We would provide each hospital patient N5 million so that their relatives can care for them.

This demonstrates once more the peril that security personnel face on a daily basis. To keep us safe, they are constantly in risk.
