Aminu Tambuwal, who used to be the governor of Sokoto State and is now a senator, has told the courts to never let Nigeria be destroyed.
On Tuesday, Tambuwal made this request at the African Democratic Congress (ADC) national convention in Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria.
The former Speaker of the House of Representatives said that history is keeping track of what everyone does as individuals.
He said, “Nigeria is going through some very interesting times right now. Pseudo-Democrats have taken over, and they are clearly showing their true colors.”
“I’m not asking ADC members for anything right now; I’m asking the people who run our institutions, especially the judiciary, to listen to me.”
“Let me remind those of you who are alive today of the Judge who cut short the elections on June 12, 1993.” No judge or justice should let himself be used to bring down Nigeria.
“History is keeping track of what we do as individuals. Our kids and grandkids are counting on us to save this country.
“And those of you who are in positions of power should be responsible and remember that God Almighty is always watching you, even if there is no one else around. God Almighty will be the final judge on the Day of Judgment.
“So be careful of people who will talk to you to try to change your mind, hurt our democracy, hurt our country, or hurt our judicial system.”
