Wike Visits PDP National Secretariat Amid Party Developments

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), went to the National Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at Wadata Plaza on Friday morning.

According to reports, the party’s National Secretary, Senator Sam Anyanwu, met with the Minister.

Remember that a group within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) that supports Wike recently took over the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

It was known that they did this after the Nigeria Police opened the facility.

As you may remember, the PDP has been going through a long leadership crisis. On November 18, things got so bad at the party’s National Headquarters, Wadata Plaza, Abuja, that order broke down. A faction of the National Working Committee led by Tanimu Turaki (SAN) and supported by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed clashed with the Wike-aligned Mohammed-led faction of the party.

The Abdulrahman Mohammed-led National Working Committee (NWC) confirmed the unsealing and takeover in a statement from its National Publicity Secretary, Jungudo Mohammed.

It said that any action that could lead to violence or disruption would not be tolerated.

The PDP, led by Mohammed, praised the Nigeria Police Force for being professional and following the law. They said that the move showed a strong respect for constitutional order and due process.
