2027: APC Chieftains Warn Senator Wadada Against Using Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Name to Intimidate Rivals
The leaders of the All Progressives Congress in Nasarawa State gave Senator Ahmed Wadada a very serious warning about running for governor.
Zamani Daniel and Ibrahim Tukur, leaders of the ruling party, told Senator Wadada not to scare his opponents with threats because he is said to have the support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Party leaders say that Wadada’s supposed closeness to the president will not help him win.
“We know Mr. President is a real democrat who believes in doing what the majority wants.” That’s why we’re upset and surprised that Wadada is bragging that Mr. President will choose him over more established and popular candidates.
“Democracy is a numbers game,” as the saying goes. If you think you’re popular enough, you should sell yourself to the public. People in Nasarawa and party members should choose who is best for them. They said, “With direct primaries now in place, candidates should sell themselves to the people instead of using dishonest methods to get support.”
The news comes after current governor Abdullahi Sule backed Wadada’s bid to become governor.
Sule’s support had upset people in the ruling APC.
Senator Wadada was a member of the Social Democratic Party when he was elected, but he recently quit the APC.
