Supporters of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, who are part of the Obi–Kwankwaso (OK) Movement, are working harder than ever to get the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential ticket before the 2027 elections.
The group said it is working to make sure that no other candidate gets the party’s presidential ticket. Talks between the two sides are still going on.
Habibu Mohammad, the Kwankwasiyya Movement’s spokesperson, told the Daily Post in an interview that he was sure the alliance would come up with a joint ticket.
“We’re working together and talking to each other to make sure we get something done,” he said.
Mohammad said that Kwankwaso is willing to do anything that would help the party win in 2027.
“My boss, Kwankwaso, has agreed to let Obi take over.” He said, “He is ready for anything that will help ADC unseat President Tinubu.”
He went on to say that the former governor of Kano is willing to support any legal political arrangement that can challenge the current government.
The movement said that the alliance between the Kwankwasiyya and Obidient groups is meant to keep outside groups from having too much power in the party’s primaries.
“We’re not going to do things alone anymore; we’re going to work together.” “We’re not going to give in to any primary that isn’t credible,” Mohammad said.
He also said that some candidates might try to influence the process by offering money, but he stressed that the coalition would not allow this to happen.
The group also asked Atiku Abubakar to help bring the opposition together.
He went on, “We are praying and hoping that Atiku will be a father to us all so that we can keep giving him the respect he deserves.”
