More troubles await the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has defected to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), a Nigerian broadcast journalist, Rufai Oseni, said.
Speaking on emerging political alignments ahead of the forthcoming general election, Oseni said this on Monday on ARISE Television’s ‘The Morning Show’.
The recent expansion of the NDC may soon be followed by internal and legal crises, Oseni said, alleging that there are moves within political circles to prevent Peter Obi from contesting in the 2027 election.
He claimed that Peter Obi is the only opposition figure that could pose a serious electoral threat to President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election based on political mapping by major parties including the ADC and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“I think it will be the beginning of more troubles for the NDC because the litigation will start,” he stated. The litigations as to even registration of the NDC.
So it will start because you see the idea here is Peter Obi not on the ballot. And that’s the problem. All forces will do everything to see that Obi does not make it to the ballot.
I do a lot of political mapping and I know people who do political mapping, the ADC, APC, all the political parties have done political mapping. Obi is the only person who can push President Tinubu in this election.
“The number one strategy is to keep Obi off the ballot. “That’s why there was a crisis in the ADC.
