Director General of National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, Zubaida Umar has reiterated the agency’s commitment towards proactive disaster management with emphasis on improving collaboration with key stakeholders across the country.
She made this disclosure during a working visit to the headquarters of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in Abuja where she received a delegation of the Simulation and Crisis Management Directorate of the Department of State Services.

Umar also assured the visiting delegation that the agency was ready to strengthen collaboration in the areas of disaster preparedness, simulation planning and emergency response.
“We stand ready to continue working closely to improve coordinated emergency response across the country,” she added.
Acting Assistant Director General of the Directorate Safiya Yusuf said the visit was aimed at strengthening institutional cooperation and improving national crisis response mechanisms.
She said that the Directorate is involved in providing support before, during and after emergencies, adding that it is committed to working with NEMA to improve preparedness across the country.
