Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike has said he has not adopted any candidate for the Rivers state gubernatorial election in 2027.
This was stated by Wike on Wednesday during his monthly media chat in Abuja.
“After our meeting, we will do our endorsement,” Wike said. “We have a joint coalition in the state.
“I have not endorsed anyone,” he said. And I can’t endorse anyone until the joint coalition meets.”
Questions were asked about the fate of incumbent governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara in 2027, it is said.
The FCT Minister was said to have endorsed the candidature of former State Commissioner for Works, Alabo Dakorinama George Kelly as his preferred candidate for the Rivers State governorship election.
Sources said Wike agreed on George after a closed-door meeting with key political stakeholders in Port Harcourt on Monday.
