‘He Ordered The Gate Locked’ – Bwala Reveals What Atiku Allegedly Did To Tinubu After Swearing-In

Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala has disclosed that Bola Tinubu tried to reach out to former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar after the 2023 presidential election.

Bwala was reported to have made the revelation in an interview shared by Symfoni TV where he spoke about what happened shortly after Tinubu emerged president.

He said that after taking the oath of office, Tinubu reached out to Atiku through some emissaries. Bwala said the move was aimed at opening channels of communication between the president and the former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, amid the tension that followed the election.

The presidential aide said he knew about the situation first-hand because he was still working closely with Atiku at the time. He said the men sent by Tinubu allegedly went to Atiku’s residence but could not gain access.

Bwala said Atiku ordered the gate not to be opened to the visitors upon their arrival at the residence. The incident, he said, showed that Tinubu had made efforts to reach out after taking office.

“When President Tinubu was being sworn in, I was with Atiku. This I can say because I was closer to Atiku, men from President Tinubu went to Atiku. Emissaries went to meet Atiku, when they came to the gate of Atiku, he ordered that the gate should not be opened for them. “So Tinubu has done the work,” he stated.
