NDC Primary: Enugu Guber Aspirant Ogenyi Urges Calm As Officials Fail To Arrive

A governorship contestant in Enugu State, under the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC,Hon Dozie Ogenyi  has asked his supporters to keep calm after party members waited for several hours without election authorities showing up.

It was recalled that the NDC held its primary elections across the country on Friday.

However, Enugu State appears to be one of the worst situations, as party members waited continuously without any official showing there.

Ogenyi, who was joined by a senatorial hopeful, Bishop Oscar Okwudili Ossai and other NDC chieftains in the state, walked round several of the sites in the local government areas, where he was met by a large gathering of party supporters.

While noting the non-arrival of election authorities at any of the primary election places despite the enormous turn-out of party supporters for the exercise, he asked the party members to remain calm as the National Leadership of the NDC would provide a clear guidance.

Addressing his supporters in Nsukka, Igbo-Eze South, Uzo-Uwani and a few other local government areas he visited, he said: “Those being expected to come from Enugu to conduct the primaries have caused unnecessary delay.”

Our correspondent reports that the party supporters in Nsukka LGA, after waiting in vain for the arrival of poll officials, formed huge lineups behind their favored hopefuls.
