Bwala Tells Rufai Oseni to Quit Arise News and Join Peter Obi’s Campaign

Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala has mocked Arise Television anchor, Rufai Oseni for allegedly acting as unofficial spokesman for Peter Obi.

Obi is understood to be the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress for the 2027 election.

In a post on 𝕏 on Monday, Bwala alleged that Oseni’s recent grilling of Obi on policy issues was a ploy to cover his support for the former Anambra State governor.

Obi had promised to boost Nigeria’s electricity generation and distribution capacity to at least 10,000 megawatts within four years if elected President in 2027.

Saturday after emerging as the NDC presidential candidate at the party’s national convention in Abuja, he made the promise.

Oseni had taken Obi on during a media engagement over the electricity plan.

Bwala dared the broadcaster to openly declare his political leaning by taking a leave of absence or sabbatical from Arise Television and joining Obi’s campaign.

“That anchor thinks he is deceiving us by challenging @PeterObi on his plans to generate power as if he is not the unofficial spokesman of Peter Obi,” Bwala wrote.

“Be bold and courageous and be a man by taking a leave of absence and or sabbatical from Arise News and join Peter Obi’s campaign and test his capacity.”
