The former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has arrived at the Federal High Court in the state capital for the continuation of his ongoing corruption trial.
El-Rufai was accompanied to the court by officials of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, and operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS, and the Nigeria Police Force.
The case relates to allegations of abuse of office, fraud and financial misconduct during his time as governor.
The money was released improperly for projects that either were not done or were done irregularly, the prosecutors said.
El-Rufai meanwhile has denied all the charges and maintains his innocence.
The case will proceed before the court on Monday with both the prosecution and defence expected to make motions and arguments.
