Top politicians from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) among others in Kwara North at the weekend converged on Moro Local Government Area of the state and resolved to do everything democratically possible to ensure the zone clinches governorship in the 2027 election.
The gathering also included all the traditional rulers and residents of the five councils that make up the district.
Our correspondent reports that since return to democracy in 1999, no indigene of Kwara North has governed the state.
The development has fueled massive agitation for the governorship slot to return to Kwara North.
At the stakeholders meeting held at the weekend by the Kwara North Youth Consultative Forum (KNYCF), indigenes were charged to unite behind a Kwara North ticket irrespective of their political affiliation.
