Communities in Uburu and Okposi have been brutally attacked by unidentified gunmen, who have left a trail of devastation in their wake.
Three cars reportedly caught fire during the incident, which happened on Thursday night, while an uninvolved bystander sustained a shoulder injury.
In a phone interview, SP Onome Onovewakpoyeya, the Police Command Public Relations Officer in Ebonyi state, confirmed the upsetting incidents and said that the attackers wreaked ruthless havoc in both the Uburu and Okposi Communities.
According to the Police PPRO, the police command is committed to holding those responsible accountable as investigations into the incident get underway.
The chaos broke out around 10:00 PM, according to an eyewitness who chose to remain anonymous and who shared horrific details of the incident with this newspaper.
He revealed that two of the three burned-out cars perished in Rev. J. Odii’s compound at Okposi Okwu in the Ebonyi state LGA of Ohaozara.
The command is actively pursuing the fleeing suspects and is fully aware of the attack. Three vehicles, including a Sienna, were burned to the ground. The passerby who was hurt after being hit in the shoulder is now receiving medical attention, according to the Police PPRO.
