Jethro Onose, the student of the Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Imeri, Ose Local Government Area of Ondo state, who was abducted at the weekend, has regained freedom.

Daily Trust had reported how Onose was kidnapped alongside his father, Maliki Onose, while returning to school after three weeks holiday.

The duo were waylaid and abducted between the border towns of Ondo and Edo states.

But Adetunji Adeleye, commander of the Ondo State Security Network Agency otherwise known as Amotekun Corps, confirmed the rescue of the student and his father, on Wednesday morning.

Adeleye said the rescue operation between the Navy and the Amotekun Corps led to the freedom of both the father and his son.

“We combed the length and breadth of the forest with the permission of the Navy and in collaboration. Both the father and his son are now safe and have reunited with their family,” he told Daily Trust.

Damilola Ogunrotimi, Chairman of the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) in the Navy secondary school, also confirmed the release of the student and his father.
