The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has transferred over N18 billion to the National Hajj Commission to facilitate preparations for the upcoming 2024 pilgrimage.

The Director General of the board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, revealed this during a meeting with the NAHCON Kano office officials in his office.

Danbappa disclosed that while 3,110 individuals have applied for pilgrimage arrangements, many are still awaiting visa issuance from NAHCON.

He urged the commission to expedite the visa processing before the deadline.

Danbappa reiterated the state government’s commitment to completing the ongoing renovations at the Hajj Camp before the commencement of airlifting.

He said unlike the previous year, the government has ensured the provision of all necessary equipment at the Hajj Camp for the convenience of pilgrims.

In response, Hajiya Rabi D’nyako, the Head of Administration at the National Hajj Commission’s Kano office, assured the board of the commission’s dedication to addressing visa-related concerns.

She then submitted an inventory questionnaire to facilitate coordination between the two entities.
