Bello, the eldest son of Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, has denied reports that EFCC agents raided his Kaduna home and discovered money in various currencies.
According to rumors, the EFCC discovered $800 million, N700 billion in cash, and N1 trillion in narcotics at his Kaduna mansion.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Bello called the claims “false” and a deliberate attempt to divert attention away from his public duty.
He further denied that he owns a residence in Kaduna, stating that their family home is in Unguwar Sarki.

Bello’s statement read: “My constituents, whom I serve, understand what would happen if I were given such data.
“For those who are sponsoring these ignorant attacks, I assure you that we will continue to serve the people and enjoy how much it irritates them; additionally, quality, frank, and honest representation is here to stay in Kaduna North.”
“The use of fake news to manipulate public perception and instigate discord, stressing the attempt to connect him to illicit activities through unfounded allegations was not only defamatory but an affront to the principles of justice and fairness.”
